Since no ONE else has been doing it, I guess you guys here deserve at least some of the story. I arrived with the ring on the 17th (I had to do it). Upon my arrival Rob and Chris asked to speak with me. When we went to talk they both informed me that June would be their LAST show with UWA. That they wanted out. I had two choices, continue to run UWA on my own or leave too. I have failed to run a company solo in the past so I picked the latter choice. Also, there were some other issues between us 3 owners and also with the venue that caused the show to be cancelled. As for not informing wrestlers? Mike, I know TWO that were not notified. I do know for a fact that Rob was on the phone calling wrestlers from the moment the decision was made. As for you not being notified, Mike, we made the decision to cancel the show a few minutes before you arrived. Yes it sucks that there wasn't a sign posted on the venue, for that I personally am sorry I overlooked it. I was concerned with getting the ring back that I forgot. Though I am not taking all the blame since I was only the minority owner, others could have done it as well. I could only do so much with UWA, which was virtually EVERYTHING. I lead all the setup, the takedown, the small details that no one either wanted to do or were capable of doing. I will not do it alone and it costs too much to find a new venue, insurance etc. Thank you to all the fans and workers of UWA. I, at least, appreciate you.

okay.. I'll toss my two cents onto theis story. Before I do though, please understand that I respect the privacy of Rob & Chris, and it is 100% up to them to share all the reasons as to why they pulled a 2:1 to close down the company.
Now lets put the situation like this. You are a person that puts your heart and soul into a passtime. Any passtime. You get to the point where you want to start a company for that passtime, and you out everything, including almost every cent you earn into that company... and it fails. Not once, but multipule times. You would get to a point where eventhough you loved it.. it is no longer fun to do what you are doing. Any self respecting person at that point would walk away to save themselfs from depression. That is kinda what Rob and Chris did. I respect their knowing when it was time to walk away.
Now look at the state of local wrestling, or prowrestling on the whole right now. There are several local federations, and that spreads the audience thin, making it hard to capture an entire market.
There are other personal reasons too that factor into it... but again it was up to Rob and Chirs, and they made up their mind. Repect, or kiss off.
Sorry people like Michael Porter are out of a wrestling job... boo hoo cry me a river. Mike, you had a nice run. Move on. LOL, your star spangled banner was enough to close down any company!!!!!
There is still pro wrestling in Sacramento.. and in neighboring cities.. and some put on great shows. We'll find a replacement, though UWA will be missed.... it could be worse.. it could be the new ECW!!!!

Chris can wrestle circles around most people in the wrestling world homie. But some advice, don't get so personally insulting at SPW. Cause they are not as forgiving as we are, and have been known to slap fans in the mouth for running it to much. Keep that in mind!
