WrestleShoot Report (TV Tapings for 2-27-05)
First off...PLEASE allow me to apologize for not posting the WrestleShoot Report sooner. My computer was down for a few days. But now, hopefully I can complete it before this piece of S**T goes down again.
As always, the WrestleShoot TV Tapings took place at the UWA Academy of Professional Wrestling, located at the La Sierra Community Center 5325 Engle Rd. in Carmichael, CA.
Alright, before our first WrestleShoot of the day, we had a Tag Team match-up featuring D-Unit & Kered the Klown (The Bad Apples) taking on Rage & Steel (Full Metal Jacket). This match ended when D-Unit mistakenly speared his partner, Kered, costing The Bad Apples the match. This resulted in a brawl between the two partners, which was finally broken up, but not before we saw a split of The Bad Apples.
Next up was our first WrestleShoot episode, in which Wildthing Rob Wilds and I had as our guests, the victorious Rage & Steel (Full Metal Jacket).
For the first order of business, I had to read a prepared statement from UWA Commissioner, Doug Damien.
The statement was as follows:
"From the desk of Commissioner Doug Damien.
I deeply regret to make the following announcement.
Due to a very serious back injury, I am left with no choice but to resign as Commissioner of UWA. With the serious nature of my injury, I find myself forced to miss UWA Events as well as WrestleShoot tapings. This is harmful to UWA because as Commissioner, I am head of the Championship Committee. Therefore, having to make over the phone decisions and not be there in person, it's hard to totally asses the situations and hence harder to make the right decisions, acts, or judgements.
As my final act as Commissioner, I have appointed Rob Wilds as my successor. It is clear to me and the rest of the Championship Committee that Rob only wants what is best for UWA and the athletes UWA employs. I am confident this is the best move, and Rob will guide UWA successfully through 2005 and beyond.
Thank you to everyone in UWA. It has been an experience that I will treasure forever.
Thank you and Goodbye.
Doug Damien"
This stunned me and Rob as well. I am sure that Rob will make a fine UWA Commissioner!
From there, we went on to the business at hand. We had some news and notes, then brought out Rage & Steel for their interview.
After we concluded WrestleShoot Part One, we had a match between former partners, D-Unit and Kered the Klown. This match ended up spilling outside the ring, with D-Unit pinning Kered out on the floor. This was when The Wildthing and I realized that this had turned into a Falls Count Anywhere Match.
We haven't heard the last of this D-Unit-Kered the Klown situation.
Next up, Ridiculous Mike Rayne won an Over-the-Top-Rope Battle Royal.
Then, we had our second WrestleShoot TV taping, with our guest Ridiculous Mike Rayne.
Also, I was happy to go down into the studio audience and sing a SPECIAL "Happy Birthday" to one of our BIGGEST WrestleShoot and UWA supporters, Krystal LaRue. I was joined by all of the UWA wrestlers in attendance, who came out and helped me sing "Happy Birthday" to Krystal.
Following our second WrestleShoot, we had a match in which the Flamboyant Rik Luxury defeated Ridiculous Mike Rayne.
That concluded the Feb.27 tapings of WrestleShoot TV.
