QUICK RESULTS FOR UWA AT FAT CAT MODESTO MAY 10TH
First off, PLEASE allow me to THANK CJ Jackson and Jimmy Ferrara for providing my transportation from Marysville to Modesto and back home, along with my meals, and my overnight lodging in Modesto!
Before a HOT crowd of 131 (CONFIRMED by Fat Cat Security Personel), INCLUDING K-1 Heavyweight Champion, Carter Williams, the UWA put on their BEST show in recent memory! From top to bottom, a GREAT evening of Professional Wrestling presented by the Superstars of the United Wrestling Alliance!
The evening started out with the TRADITIONAL 10-Bell Salute, to honor our fallen Brother, Chris Candido. In a touching tribute to Candido, the ENTIRE UWA Talent Roster came out to ringside, and the UWA fans stood in respectful silence as the bell tolled 10 times in memory of the late Chris Candido.
I will have a more detailed report in my next WrestleBeat column. But for now, here are the OUICK RESULTS:
Match One: Surge, accompanied by his Manager Brian Charisma, def. Conquistador # 2. Following this match-up, the Conquistador, who has been carrying around the UWA Woman's Championship Belt as if it was his own, was surprised by Valet, The LOVELY Sexie Lexie, with a cross-body block from the top rope, pinning the stunned Conquistador, with the referee making the count, giving Lexie the Woman's Title!
Match Two: Big D-Unit def. Conquistador # 4.
Match Three: The Innovator, Vinnie Massaro, from The Cartel w/ Mgr. Ric Micheals def. D.J. Rizz from The Suburban Commandos.
Match Four: Kerod the Klown def. Nick Rage.
Match Five: The Innovator Vinnie Massaro and Big Ugly J.D. Bishop (The Cartel) w/ Mgr. Ric Micheals def. D-Unit and D.J. Rizz (The Suburban Commandos).
Match Six: In a re-match for the UWA Cruiserweight Championship, the UWA Academy Champion, Vega def. the Flamboyant Rik Luxury to re-gain the Cruiserweight Title in a THRILLING, nearly-20 minute match.
Match Seven: For the UWA Hardcore Championship, Chris "Psycho" Ward def. Big Ugly J.D. Bishop w/ Mgr. Ric Micheals, The Innovator Vinnie Massaro, and Ridiculous Mike Rayne to retain the Hardcore Title in a BRUISING battle.
Match Eight: In the Main Event of the Evening, in a TLC (Tables, Ladders & Chairs) Match, Modesto's own Rage and Steel (Full Metal Jacket) THRILLED their home-town fans by defeating Super Dave and Ridiculous Mike Rayne (Super-Diculous) w/Mgr. Ric Micheals in what can only be described as an UNBELIEVIBLY BRUTAL, VISCIOUS, and EXCITING TLC Match to re-tain the Tag Titles. This match was off-the-hook, lasting well over 20 minutes!
Match Nine: In a Battle Royal for the Fat Cat Cup, with Royal Rumble rules, Chris "Psycho" Ward was the last man standing, winning the Cup (AND it's contents, filled to the rim with Budweiser beer, which Ward HAD to drink while still in the ring)!. Other participants were Rik Luxury, D-Unit, Surge, D.J. Rizz, Conquistador # 4, Brian Charisma, Kerod the Klown, Sexie Lexie, Vega, Steel, and The Innovator Vinnie Massaro. The FINAL FOUR in the ring were, Massaro, Steel, Conquistador # 4, and the eventual winner, Ward.
