Ok everyone, Locked up for the show on October 16th is Marty Janetty vs Warpath for the Heavyweight title. Also booked is Big Money Bill Monroe vs Doink the Clown.
So what do we need to do to get this show to not only draw well, But give our fans an experiance they will NEVER forget. I wanna hear from everyone, so let the ideas flow. Remember, the only bad ideas are the ones never thought of, so no matter how rediculous you may think it is, fire it out anyway. Lets make this next show kick some backside.
Ill be waiting to hear from ya.
Rob
ps. Sence Bam Bam retired were talking to other names, who would you like to see for this Legends style show?

I'm thinking about entrances and production elements. I received a new fog machine to replace one under warranty, so I'm selling that to get two smaller ones. No big deal, I already have 1 fog machine I intend to keep and am selling a second fog machine anyways that has never even been plugged in.
I looked into projectors, too expensive for the work I'd be doing at this point, however I am not going to rule that out. I have other gigs that would need a projector. But $1200 for a projector? Wow, too much, but it does have PC, S-video, component video, composite video and RF input as well as PAL, SECAM and NTSC support. I could route any type of signate into it.
I want to hit the audience as they come in with some lighting dancing around the entrance with tiny blasts of fog now and then, nothing big though, just little here and there.
Intelligent lights are not in my budget, but I have lights to put up over the wrestler's entrance. I am getting some more Par38's period, as I need those, going from my 10 to 16.
I think backstage interviews would be good. But that depends on a projector. I have a place that can do DVD's, but not extensive authoring, jus straight transfers. I need something with titles and menu, so more software involvement. I might be getting a DVD burner soon anyhow. Get me the videos, I can import them and burn it to DVD or video CD's, which might work equally as well.
I plan on running the house LOUD!!!!
Stage commentary going to the house. I have 5 channels of wireless and currently have 3 headsets, so that allows for hands-free. That gives 2 mics for "on-stage" usage, plus I have an additional 4 suitable for hand-held usage.
I'll develop a walk-in disc for general purpose usage. Wrestlers should please tell me what music they need for their entrances. I'll go meet them and pick it up and dump it into a computer to make this easier.
I think starting drama would be neat. You see the call-outs all the time on WWE, this could be fun. Mike Rayne should do something to back-up his homepage statement for challengers before the match.
I think the outside ring stuff is fun too.
Autographs before and after the event, but mainly BEFORE the event. That depends on everything being done way ahead of time. I'll work hard on my end to ensure I get my stuff done.
I'm going to contact that frame place and see what they might be interested in. I'll need poster sizes, but that's secondary, first is seeing if they might be interested.
I'm in Orangevale a bit on Wednesday. So, I'll be stopping by Frame Stop on Fair Oaks at Greenback.
I think actual pyro for this show is a bad idea unless we have someone who is a pyrotech. I think that is a ways off.
of course, more shows. I'm going to see what additional help I can provide.

What about some new faces from the local independent companies? It's great to build fan base but it gets's old watching the same two guys go at it time and time again.

The same wrestlers all the time, it's unavoidable in this business. Even the WWE has to do the same thing, then they use the PPV events to stir it up between Raw and Smackdown. So much talen in one organization that they felt the need to break it up to simplify things.
How about a web-site ticket give-away. Have a drawing for a pair of tickets for web site visitors who fill out a form. Nothing major.
I'm in the area tomorrow, but my day is slammed. It starts at 6AM and ends at midnight. I'm gonna be running around all day long.

like Mike Rayne, Rage and Steel, Cris Ward and Marco Bliskin, The UWA Kid... That's what I mean. The same old thing time and time again. There is AWESOME talent out there at APW and BTW and even more at PWI that have never graced UWA. Wildstorm for instance. One of the fastest rising cruiserweights in No. Cal. Outstanding Areobatics, great mat work. True professional. Not to mention built in fan base. I've seen him work numerous guys and the mathes alwasy came off seemless. It's easy to work someone you have worked over and over again. The test of a true professional is if you can keep changing it up. Franz and Kazarian. Two of the fastest power houses I've seen. Definitely heavy weight material. But still fast and agile. These two are a total crowd pleaser. On the flip side. If you are not going to bring in new blood then push the guys you have better. More publicity of your champions, a LOT more into review of your shows. More info on your stars. Way more into the hype around them at the shows. Entrances, interviews, autographs, merchandise. If you're gonna do it do it right. Do it big!

Even though I won't be at the show (damn family in Jersey ;D) I think bringing in legends isn't the best idea. One or two guys is cool, but turning into a legneds based promotion might be a bad idea.
But, since legends are being brought in, how about Terry Funk!! Mick Foley is also taking independent bookings. Maybe some old ECW guys, like Sandman, Danny Doring or Roadkill.
ROH GUYS!!!! I know they have a show that night, so forget them. How about SoCal? Puma, Super Dragon, Samoa Joe!!! Kazarian.

But how do you cram in that many people into a 2 hour event? I mean, I don't mind it going long, but hey, there's only so much time, unless you start throwing in more tag team matches.

WCS&E, I understand what you are saying..and we try to bring in new tallent every show. Vinnie Massario will be making his way to this show and we are talking to other new faces to appear. But we have our regular roster we need to push. However if it makes you feel any better, Vinnie will be a regular face around UWA.
Tim, We bring in names, thats just how UWA works. your average wrestling fan doesnt know about locals. The names also do wonders for the locals. It gives them a chance to meet the guys who have gone all the way, and how to behave in locker rooms. and the ones who get to work them..they win the most.
