Not shamelessly promoting myself, but I'm working with quite a few A-list artists these days. Check the Giang Tien Audio site and hit the calendar. Links to appropriate pictures too.
I'm working at the Jewel concert at the Radisson Hotel for June 11, 2004. Solo Acoustic show. Should be fun.
So, who has gone to any concerts recently and who was it? I myself am so busy between my networking job(I own the company) and my audio stuff(I own that company too), unless I'm working the show, I don't have time to go to it.
Feel free to ask me about pro audio. I do it. I'm just trying to give some life to these boards.

Just following up on my own thread.
I'm acting as a runner for the Jewel concert. Yeah, I hate starting from the bottom, but I have good faith in the concert promotion folks and want them to look good and in return they do assist me quite a bit.
After my "running" duties, I get to do some fun stuff.
In a few years when I vastly expand my PA, I'll be running sound for these artists again. I'm working to get a big 56-input Allen & Heath GL4000. I'll probably need to hire the UWA as crew to lift all my heavy gear!
I can give more news after Friday. I can't share too much right now.

Just following up again, more than 10 days after the event.
The Jewel concert was rather enjoyable. Due to privacy and confidentiality concerns, I am not able to convey some of the more interesting bits. The show went off great, and InstantLive was there selling CD's of the show right there. They must be mixing right to CD.
My job function changed multiple times during the day, getting done what needed to get done: run errands, get food and drinks, count chairs(yes, it is necessary), assist the sound and lighting guys. The day BEGAN at 7:30 AM for me and ended at 2AM the next day. Of course, this is nothing new for me, I routinely worked as an instrument technician and studio engineer/backup sound engineer for many years. Now I have my own system.
You'd be amazed at how much work goes into a concert. From stage set-up(OK, the stage was already there), lighting load in/out, sound load in/out, FOH load in/out, testing, people doing specific tasks. It's a lot of work.
The UWA event I did was no different except I missed some of the earlier fun. For me, it's an all-day event. I like to be there when the first people arrive and start getting things going.
Remember, when you go to a show, there's a LOT of work done behind the scenes by people who also enjoy what they do, they just don't want to be in the spotlight. Their satisfaction is knowing their work made things happen and a job well done.
