Please keep in mind, this is a conditional offering.
As of late, I had to fire my entire crew. I know at least ONE person who can sympathize with that sort of thing. I managed to get two greenies to help out and saved the day. It came down to the wire, but I'm a professional. I get results.
So, unfortunately, my next BIG event is on September 24th, a Friday. I'm trying to determine what I will need as far as assistance is concerned. Part of my issue is one of my new guys is a student(most of my crew were students), so will be unable to assist when needed the most, leaving me with ONE GUY.
OK, pay is to be determined, but I'm letting you know right now I am not getting paid for this event. I like to share the wealth, but 25% of nothing is still nothing, right?
So, who wants to learn? Who's willing to learn?
Job requires SOME heavy lifting and attention to detail and able to figure things out on one's own. Main tasks needed assistance with are the assembly of the lights. This will consist of 16 Par38's, 3 semi-large fixtures(none heavier than 30 pounds), dimmer/relay packs, 4 smaller fixures, 2 fixtures of in-between sizes, 2 fog machines and some other smaller items. This is stuff that takes a buttload of time, but I'm doing what I can here to reduce those efforts as much as possible. I'm thinking of pulling additional circuits to use for a set of 4 Par64 cans, which I will rent or borrow. Also need to move in and out an entire PA system with full hardware. Thank goodness most of this is on wheels, eh?
Those interested, call Chris at 916-601-7089. be available ALL DAY Friday. I will be there from 2PM to 11PM(or longer and/or earlier).
Will try old crew to see who won't flake out on me(doubtful) and other resources are either unavailable or too untrainable. I figure with 3 additional hands, this can get taken care of promptly. I can sound check while the lights are still being thrown up. I'll be using 2 trusses(1 10-foot, 1 15-foot, these are WIDTHS, not heights, and will be on crank stands) and 2 T-stands. See the UWA pictures with Matt playing guitar, it's those.
Happy Garden Seafood on Stockton near Fruitridge. It's a fundraiser to help two dumb-ass lawyers who got their dumb-asses arrested in Vietnam(emmigrates) for most likely being stupid in public. Hey, what the hell do I care? It's good exposure and publicity. I won't even know what the hell anyone is talking about. For all I know, they might be saying "Kill the white man" between songs.
Seriously, crowd is friendly. Hired help gets to squash idiots who touch my gear without authorization.
First dibs goes to UWA ownership. I haven't talked ot them about this yet, no time. I'm on the phone with SBC screaming at them in regards to some customer DSL issues. I'm fuming on hold right now. I've been on hold 20 minutes.
