Michael Porter's WerstleBeat (3-30-05)
Hey Wrestling Fans! Welcome to another edition of WrestleBeat! I've got some more news and notes from the World of Professional Wrestling. So, let's get down to business.
First off, let me say that I SINCERELY hope that you ALL had a GREAT Easter Holiday!
Alright, the next tapings for WrestleShoot TV will take place on Sunday April 10th at the UWA Academy of Professional Wrestling, which is located within the combines of the La Sierra Community Center 5325 Engle Rd. in Carmichael, CA.
Taping will begin at 3:00pm and seating is, as usual, ABSOLUTELY FREE, and is available on a first come-first served basis.
YOU can be there LIVE and In-Person for WrestleShoot TV, and can join my co-host, Wildthing Rob Wilds and me, Michael Porter, as we call all the action, as we WILL be having our usual compliment of UWA match-ups! And of course, don't forget that you are cordially invited to bring your cameras to take pictures of ALL the action!
Appearing at this taping will be the UWA Tag Team Champions, Rage & Steel (Full Metal Jacket), the reigning UWA Hardcore Champion, Chris "Psycho" Ward", the UWA Cruiserweight Champion, Rik Luxury, the UWA Academy Champion, Vega, Wayne "Don't Call Me Bob" Backlund and his Valet, the Lovely Lexie, and others.
For directions to the La Sierra Community Center, you can log on to www.mapquest.com , then enter YOUR location address, and then the address: 5325 Engle Rd. Carmichael, CA., wait a couple of moments, and you'll receive step-by-step directions to the Community Center.
For more information go to www.UnitedWrestlingAlliance.com !
Remember...that's the next WrestleShoot TV tapings, on Sunday April 10th, at the UWA Academy of Professional Wrestling, located within the La Sierra Community Center 5325 Engle Rd. in Carmichael. BE THERE!
Next up, the UWA is returning to the Fat Cat Music House and Lounge in Modesto, CA. on Tuesday May the 10th, for another SPECIAL Bar Show!
In the Main Event of the Evening, for the UWA Heavyweight Championship, the Champion, the MASSIVE Native American Warpath will put his Title on the line against the 420 lb. MONSTER, Pogo.
This match-up, which pits two of the biggest and stiffest competitors on the INDY Wrestling circuit, came about DIRECTLY as a result of Pogo's interference at the end of the Warpath Title defense against PWI Superstar, Mike Modest at the Fat Cat back on March the 3rd. Subsequently, Warpath returned the favor and cost Pogo the Fat Cat Cup Battle Royal, aiding Midget Wrestler, Short Sleeve Sampson in throwing Pogo over the top rope, enabling Sampson to win the Battle Royal!
In following the March 3rd escapades, NEW UWA Commissioner, Wildthing Rob Wilds deemed it appropiate that Warpath would face Pogo at the next event to be held at The Fat Cat, and that Warpath's Heavyweight Belt would be on the line.
Also, in a re-match for the UWA Tag Team Championship, the NEW Champions, Modesto's own, Rage and Steel (Full Metal Jacket) will once again face the former Champions, Super Dave and Ridiculous Mike Rayne (Super-Diculous) in a TLC (Tables, Laddres, and Chairs) Match!
This should be AWESOME, especially after witnessing their prior match-up at Fat Cat's!
More matches will be added in the coming weeks.
Fat Cat Music House and Lounge is located at 930 11th Street Modesto, CA.
For more information on Fat Cat Modesto, go to www.FatCatModesto.com or give them a call at (209) 524-1400.
Tickets are just $15.00!
The doors open at 6:00pm and the show starts at 7:00pm.
***Due to venue restrictions, you must be 21 years of age or older to attend.***
(card subject to change)

Former WCW Champion Lex Luger is being held at Gwinnet County Jail in Lawrenceville, Georgia. This is due to him being arrested two weeks ago for what is called "contempt of court" stemming from Luger's failure to maintain child support payments to his ex-wife.
Luger is also on probation stemming from a DUI arrest this past January. He has been out of the ring in recent months stemming from a back injury suffered while training.
The Dudley Boys have returned to working out at OVW after being given several months off to rest and relax. Right now as it stands, the Dudley's are scheduled to return right before the ECW PPV in June. Of course, they could return before that date, but as it stands right now, the Dudleys will be apart of the ECW PPV and should return right before that date.
Thanks to Joey Styles for the following:
Sting was interviewed for an article in "The Daily News" about his movie, "Sting: Moment of Truth", and confirmed that he has had recent conversations with WWE. "It is true that we have spoken recently," Sting told The Daily News. The stumbling block remains Sting's problem with WWE's adult oriented storylines. ""What kind of message does that send to the 5-6-7-8-9-10-year-old tuning in to see the Stinger and he has to see stuff like that?" he questioned.
Thanks to Ryan Clark for these next items:
Psicosis (currently wrestling as Nicho in Mexico) and Super Crazy are scheduled to start with WWE after Wrestlemania. Psicosis is rumored to being using the Psychosis spelling in WWE.
Juventud Guerrera is having visa issues, which is slowing down the process for his paperwork.
Despite his Smackdown bio being removed from WWE's web site for a short time last week, Suzuki is currently out of action with a collapsed lung.
WWE announcer and former wrestler Tazz was not at Tuesday night's SMACKDOWN tapings due to the death of his father, who passed away this past weekend. Jerry the King Lawler replaced Tazz as color commentator for the taping
Tazz will still be at WrestleMania 21 on Sunday on pay-per view, and will still call the SmackDown brand matches on the show along with Michael Cole.
I would like to send out my condolences to Tazz and his Family for their loss.
Well, that does it for another edition of WrestleBeat. I'll be back next time with more news and notes from the Wonderful World of Professional Wrestling, including MY thoughts on WrestleMania 21.
So, until next time, KEEP BOTH FEET ON THE MAT AND YOUR PUNCHES ABOVE THE BELT! Later, Michael.
