Once again...that's Saturday April 23rd at the UWA Academy of Professional Wrestling located at the La Sierra Community Center 5325 Engle Rd. in Carmichael.
We hope to see you there!
Then, the NEXT day, Sunday April 24, the next tapings of WrestleShoot TV will tale place...ALSO at the UWA Academy...SAME address and directions as above!
There will be a SPECIAL, EARLIER start time of 2:00pm for THIS taping, so come a little early and join my co-host, Wildthing Rob Wilds and me, Michael Porter for ALL the action, news, and interviews as the UWA Presents WrestleShoot TV!
Many of the UWA Superstars mentioned above will be appearing at the tapings.
Also, as earlier reported, the UWA is returning to the Fat Cat Music House and Lounge in Modesto, CA. on Tuesday May the 10th, for another SPECIAL Bar Show!
In the Main Event of the Evening, for the UWA Heavyweight Championship, the Champion, the MASSIVE Native American Warpath will put his Title on the line against the 420 lb. MONSTER, Pogo.
This match-up, which pits two of the biggest and stiffest competitors on the INDY Wrestling circuit, came about DIRECTLY as a result of Pogo's interference at the end of the Warpath Title defense against PWI Superstar, Mike Modest at the Fat Cat back on March the 3rd. Subsequently, Warpath returned the favor and cost Pogo the Fat Cat Cup Battle Royal, aiding Midget Wrestler, Short Sleeve Sampson in throwing Pogo over the top rope, enabling Sampson to win the Battle Royal!
In following the March 3rd escapades, NEW UWA Commissioner, Wildthing Rob Wilds deemed it appropiate that Warpath would face Pogo at the next event to be held at The Fat Cat, and that Warpath's Heavyweight Belt would be on the line.
Also, in a re-match for the UWA Tag Team Championship, the NEW Champions, Modesto's own, Rage and Steel (Full Metal Jacket) will once again face the former Champions, Super Dave and Ridiculous Mike Rayne (Super-Diculous) in a TLC (Tables, Laddres, and Chairs) Match!
This should be an AWESOME encounter, especially after witnessing their prior match-up at Fat Cat's!
And now...added to the card is a re-match for the UWA Cruiserweight Championship, with the current Champion, Rik Luxury defending the Title against the man he took the Belt from, the Current UWA Academy Champion, Vega.
There will be MORE matches added in the next week.
Fat Cat Music House and Lounge is located at 930 11th Street Modesto, CA.

(card subject to change)
And now, on to the national news.
WWE.com has just announced that Matt Hardy has been released. At first glance, it would be expected that there will be a lot of second guessing on that decision. Hardy was scheduled to return soon after knee surgery. One would think the situation with Amy Dumas and Adam Copeland in some form weighed into this decision given the timing.
Also, Aaron "Jesus" Aguilera and Will "Chilly Willy" Jones, and Molly Holly have been added to the list of those let go. Aguilera has been out of action since having neck surgery in January. Jones was a surprise, as he was said to be doing well in OVW. He had worked with ECW before enlisting in the service and serving overseas after ECW folded.
The Wrestlemania XXI DVD will feature all of the matches on the show and the promotional packages, all of the movie parodies, the videos on Angle, Michaels and Undertaker produced for television, the Raw vs. Smackdown Battle Royal that didn't air on television, live appearances including HHH at a Motorhead concert, plus the Hall of Fame ceremony. No Hall of Famer matches this year.
Roddy Piper claimed in an article on the Celebrity Wrestling TV show that starts on April 23rd in the U.K., where he is the host, that he had just signed a five-year WWE contract. He also said he will be doing a movie in China shortly for five weeks.
Ryan Clark reports the following:
Undertaker is working with a really sore hip and is on borrowed time before he probably will require hip replacement surgery. This type of surgery usually sidelines wrestlers for atleast 2-3 months.
Rhyno is currently down in Puerto Rico working shots for IWA Puerto Rico. He had been booked down there via the WWE office before the decision to release him was made last week, so he is simply fulfilling obligations that had already been scheduled.
The Undertaker did not attend the Hall of Fame Ceremony at WrestleMania 21 because he wanted to protect his character, but also because he and Hogan have long standing backstage heat. Undertaker has been bitter towards Hogan from his days early on in WWE when he worked two straight PPV's against Hogan. He heard that Hogan made a point of telling McMahon he wasn't ready for a top spot at that point and claimed Taker didn't protect him well during their matches including on a Tombstone piledriver.
Ever since then, he and Hogan have not gotten along. Many respected the Undertakers decision not to attend the ceremony. On that same note, some are saying that it took a phone call from Vince McMahon in order to persuade Steve Austin to attend the Hall of Fame Ceremony. There is also some heat between Austin and Hogan, but once Austin was there he seemed to enjoy himself and there are pictures of he and Hogan at the event speaking with one another.
Well, that does it for another edition of WrestleBeat. I'll be back next time with more news and notes from the Wonderful World of Professional Wrestling, including MY thoughts on WrestleMania 21.
So, until next time, KEEP BOTH FEET ON THE MAT AND YOUR PUNCHES ABOVE THE BELT! Later, Michael.
