Michael Porter's WrestleBeat (5-9-05)
Hey there again, Wrestling Fans! And welcome to another edition of WrestleBeat. I've got a lot of news and notes from the World of Professional Wrestling. So, let's get right to business.
On Saturday night May 7th, I worked as Ring Announcer for WCWA (West Voast Wrestling Alliance) at the WCWA Arena in Pleasant Hill, CA. There was a VERY HOT crowd of about 225 in attendance for some GREAT and EXCITING WCWA action! here are the results:
1) The Douglas Brothers (Clint & Cliff) def. Wonder Boy Steve Bartlett & Cody Angle.
2) Alexis Schmirnoff Jr. def. U.S. Steele via count-out.
3) In a match for the WCWA Ring of Fire Championship, Steel def. Rik Luxury to retaing the Title.
4) Eric West def. Rage.
5) Apollo Green from the New Age Ganstas def. Vinnie Violence.
6) In a Three-Way Match, Virgil Kennsington Belmont def. Suburban Commando D.J. Rizz and Sensational Shawn Gunn. This was an INCREDIBLE match, with some EXCELLENT and UNBELIEVABLE high-risk manuevers by all three competers! Many considered this the match of the night.
7) In the Main Event of the Evening, Showtime Shane Dynasty and WCWA Heavyweight Champion, Helfyre, accompanied by Risa de Muerte, and their Manager...WCWA Announcer, Blackie def. The Big Kahuna Lance Bermuda and former WCWA Champ, Jason Vega in an incredibly BRUTAL match!
WCWA returns to the WCWA Arena on Saturday night May 21st. Belltime is 7:30pm. The WCWA Arena is located at 2312 Monument Blvd. in Pleasant Hill, CA. And I am scheduled once again, to return as Ring Announcer for this event.

And now...on to the national news:
From Ryan Clark:
Gangrel has signed a WWE deal and is working in OVW right now and plans to return shortly. We're told he's been signed for quite some time and was rehabbing from an injury.
Steven Richards is also in OVW training for a return after suffering a broken nose from Chris Masters several weeks back.
Jim Ross has offered Bret Hart and current TNA booker Dusty Rhodes spots in the 2006 class of WWE Hall of Fame inductees.
Hart told Ross that he would consider the offer. Hart is currently involved a legal battle with the Lloyds of London insurance company. Hart is owed $800,000. Lloyds of London is claiming that Hart had a history of concussions prior to his career ending injury suffered in a match with Bill Goldberg.
The Rock and Vince McMahon are on good terms and Rock is back with WWE. As it stands, he will work whenever they are close to him if his schedule allows him to do so.
Thanks to Devin Cutting for the following:
Mike Mooneyham's column on May 8th features an interview with Matt Hardy, in which it's revealed that prior to discovering that Amy (aka Lita) cheated on him, Matt was planning to propose to Amy on Valentine's Day and renovating his backyard in preparation for starting a family. Matt also admits to threatening Adam (aka Edge) over the phone and says that Amy's relationship with Adam appears to be unsteady. He didn't rule out reuniting with Amy as well.
To read the Mike Mooneyham column, go to www.mikemooneyham.com .
From Ryan Clark comes this:
Mikey Whipwreck and Jim Mitchell (Sinister Minister) have been booked for the 6/12 ECW PPV.
Steven Richards is on a rehab assignment in OVW.
Former WWE grappler Andrew Martin (Test) is charging $2,500 plus a $375 agents fee for independent bookings.
It is well known that Sean Waltman has been in talks with Triple H about a possible return to WWE. To add on to this story, the amount of money that Waltman is claiming that TNA owes him at this time is $10,000. Waltman went to TNA management and told them he "quit" unless they would repay the amount of money he feels he is owed. Waltman is in talks with WWE, most specifically Triple H.
The WrestleMania 21 3-Disc DVD will be released this Tuesday. Included in the set will be the 4-hour WrestleMania 21 Event, the Heat Battle Royal featuring both RAW and SMACKDOWN Superstars, ALL of the "WrestlMania Goes Hollywood" movie parodies, INCLUDING out-takes and bloopers, the pre-WrestleMania activities, and the ENTIRE 2 and 1/2 hour WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies! I'M getting THIS one!
Well, that does it for another edition of WrestleBeat. I'll be back next time with more news and notes from the Wonderful World of Professional Wrestling.
