And now, on to the national news:
I received an e-mail from my friend, Matt Campbell regarding my news report on Lanny Poffo in the last edition of WrestleBeat.
Here is that e-mail:
"Hey Michael! Just wanted to let you know that Lanny Poffo has a new website up at lannypoffo.com! I noticed you sent out some news that Lanny is now accepting bookings at lannypoffo.newpathproductions.com, but I'm just trying to get word out on the url switch. If you could pass along the news as well, that'd be great! Thanks!
Matt

THANKS for the update, Matt!
From WrestlingObserver.com:
Rob Van Dam has stated that Joey Styles has agreed to do the announcing for the ECW One Night Stand PPV. The plan, at least as of a week ago, was for Mick Foley and Styles to do the announcing.
Shane Douglas announced this line-up for HIS Hardcore Homecoming last night (Sunday):
Shane Douglas vs. Sabu vs. Terry Funk
Jerry Lynn vs. Justin Credible
Raven vs. Sandman
Eliminators vs. ? (hinted New Jack would be involved here)
Kid Kash vs. Scorpio
J.T. Smith & Tommy Rich & Tracy Smothers vs. Ian & Axl Rotten & Chris Chetti
Douglas will be managed by Francine in the main event
Ryan Clark reports the following:
TNA chief, Dixie Carter has yet to sign anything in regards to a new TV deal. A lot of high up members of staff are being left in the dark about what the future of TNA is on television.
Randy Savage has stopped taking bookings since he hurt his back working for Harley Race's WLW promotion earlier this year. He was just appearing to sign autographs but decided to get in the ring with Harley before the signing and exchange a few holds, which led to his injury. He's recently dropped a lot of weight and has also shaved his trademark beard making him somewhat unrecognizable.
Bret Hart has a verbal agreement to appear at the WrestleReunion II convention the weekend of 8/26-8/28 in Valley Forge, PA as a tribute to Bruno Sammartino.
The Dudley Boyz returned to action over this past weekend at the SmackDown! house shows as a part of Carlito's Cabana. The two worked against Morgan and Carlito with Tommy Dreamer as the special guest referee.
There still remains nothing new to report on regarding TNA's current TV negotiations with various networks including WGN, Spike TV and Fox Sports Net (again). WGN has been the only network to at least acknowledge talks between both parties, but commented nothing more. TNA really needs to do something on their website as that is their only true outlet they have for the fans with no television at the moment. It amazes me how much they have fallen off the radar with two weeks of no TV scheduled and approaching a third next week.
TNA wrestlers who are currently under contract with the company were called last week by Scott D'Amore personally or another member of the TNA management team letting them know that they still would be paid for the scheduled May 31 TV taping despite it being canceled at last minute. (The Torch)
NWA World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles recently commented on a radio show about the possibility of TNA landing a primetime TV deal and how much better the in-ring product would be than WWE's. Styles felt WWE's current product revolves around too much talking and that TNA will deliver a solid product. He also said Matt Hardy would be a great fit for the promotion as well as others like CM Punk, Samoa Joe and Matt Sydal. Styles also said that Tito Ortiz knocking out Jeff Jarrett at the Hard Justice PPV didn't undermind his title victory and that he was thankful TNA gave him the assurance that he has three years to make money and entertain fans.
