Alright...as I have mentioned in a couple of editions of WrestleBeat, I am now working for Cuts Fitness for Men...a circuit training facility in Yuba City, CA.
I have received numerous e-mails inquiring about more information on Cuts. So, here is that information...directly from the Cuts website, http://www.cutsfitness.com:
The Need:
Years of research and science have proven that a regularly scheduled program of exercise at least three times a week can reduce weight, improve self-image, strengthen the heart and improve the quality of life in individuals. Despite this knowledge, an overwhelming number of men choose not to exercise for a variety of reasons. While some will always make excuses, many have genuine reasons and concerns for not utilizing regular exercise. Feeling overwhelmed or even intimidated by the standard gym setting can keep many newcomers from entering a typical fitness center. Often family and work commitments keep men from starting an exercise program as well. Cuts Fitness For Men understands these concerns and has designed a proven 30-minute fitness program that helps men achieve their health goals in a comfortable setting and in a manageable amount of time.
The Program:
Cuts Fitness For Men offers a complete body strengthening circuit workout utilizing hydraulic resistance machines. This exercise program is optimal for men looking to tone muscle and add definition to their physique, plus safe enough for protecting bones and preventing arthritis development. Most importantly, the equipment adjusts automatically to your level of fitness and assists in maintaining an elevated heart rate for thirty minutes. This cardiovascular routine is critical for men with a family history of heart disease, diabetes, or obesity.
Get Started:
Cuts Fitness For Men is based on a clear principal that fitness promotes a healthy lifestyle and that exercise in a comfortable, safe and friendly environment is the key to success for many men typically uninspired by traditional gym settings. The real key to the success of Cuts Fitness For Men is the core idea that exercise in a comfortable, relationship-oriented environment is a better suited option for many men in achieving their fitness goals. Cuts is passionate about providing a fitness alternative for men focused on improving self-image, weight loss, and a healthy outlook with others sharing the same goals.
No More Excuses:
Call Cuts Fitness For Men and speak to a counselor about your fitness goals. It's never too late to get going and you will feel better about yourself within days of starting. No more excuses, it's time to get healthy!
So...there you have it...direct from CutsFitness.com !
If YOU would like to get yourself back into shape, lower your blood pressure, lower your stress levels, come on in to Cuts Fitness for Men. For the nearest Cuts center to you, go to www.cutsfitness.com or if you live in the Marysville/Yuba City, CA. area come into Cuts Fitness for Men 1699 Sierra Ave. in Yuba City...near the Yuba City Wal-Mart. Or give us a call at (530) 751-2880, and ask for ME, Michael Porter, or Gavin Henry, and we'll get you started on the road back to fitness!

I also received this e-mail from Matthew Campbell, asking me to pass on this following information:
"Hey Michael, just wanted to pass word along that I've launched another site. This one for Bob Holly's Wrestling Academy at bobhollyacademy.com. The site was released publicly a few weeks ago but I was called to take things over recently and have added a lot of information to it including information on the involvement of TNA's Kip James. I'd also like to note that I have set up a new messageboard at newpathproductions.com with official forums for Hardcore Holly, Greg Valentine and OVW's Brent Albright which are all connected to their official sites as well. J. Paul is the owner of GZW (Ground Zero Wrestling), and has asked me to pass along this, as upon his return from Iraq, he will be bringing a INDY Pro Wrestling organization back into existance.
Here is an EARLY update on GZW:
GZW UPDATE: Ground Zero Wrestling is proud to annouce the following updates: BOOKMARK our OFFICIAL WEBSITE www.GZWwrestling.com . It is currently being updated, and renovated. Official site launch date TBA.

And now...on to the national news:
David Cutting reports on this tragic story:
Kurt Lauder, a wrestler that works for the Montreal based International Wrestling Syndicate as "The Career Killer" Kurt Lauderdale, and his parents have been arrested and charged with the first-degree murder of a 16-year-old girl. An article by The Canadian Press about the situation can be read here:
HEMMINGFORD, Que. (CP) - A wrestler whose ring nickname is The Career Killer was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder in the death of a 16-year-old girl.
Kurt Lauder, who according to various wrestling websites competes under the name Kurt Lauderdale, was arraigned in the death of Shanna Poissant, who disappeared two weeks ago. Lauder's mother, Suzanne Lauder-Grosser, 52, was charged with being an accessory after the fact. A similar charge against Ian Lauder, 61, the man's father, was delayed because he became ill after being arrested and was taken to hospital.
The three were charged after human remains were found Tuesday in a heavily wooded area near a bike path about 50 kilometres south of Montreal, not far from the Canadian-U.S. border.
The identity of the body was not immediately released but Quebec provincial police spokesman Francois Dore said "it could well be Shanna Poissant's."
"In the middle of the trail we found some kind of mound," Dore said. "The earth was moved so we began the search.
"My understanding is that the body was found under several inches of earth."
It was not known whether the victim had been sexually assaulted.
"I can't say what condition the body was in," Dore said. "I didn't see it."
Police had previously questioned Kurt Lauder because of reports Poissant was last seen in a pick-up truck similar to his, but he was released.
Recent footage broadcast on TVA on Tuesday showed a reporter asking Lauder, who works as a security guard, what happened to Poissant.
Lauder is seen answering, "I dropped her off" before he slams the door in the reporter's face.
Leonard Waxman, the family lawyer, said Tuesday the accused are "very upset by this turn of events."
"It's really a tragedy more than anything, a tragedy for the two families," Waxman said after the arraignments in nearby Valleyfield.
Waxman is expected to seek bail for the parents but not for Kurt Lauder.
Poissant's disappearance shocked this quiet community of 2,500, a sentiment that had not dissipated as of Tuesday.
"It's absolutely disgusting," one woman said. "It's the worst thing that can happen to anybody."
The IWS has posted a statement that can be viewed at www.syndicatewrestling.com .
Ryan Clark reports this:
From WWE.com:
WWE.com has learned that Brock Lesnar has met with his attorney, David Olsen, to discuss the written contract offer Lesnar received last week from World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. It is unclear when the contract will be signed. The terms were not disclosed.
This comes from Matthew Boone:
For those asking, the last we've heard, Brock Lesnar and Rena "Sable" Mero are still broken up. The two have been attempting to reconcile lately, after officially ending their relationship last month. (PWTorch.com)
Bret "The Hitman" Hart was recently interviewed on a pro wrestling radio show. Here are some highlights from that interview:
Talks briefly about the NWA Legends Fanfest as well as Dory Funk Jr., Terry Funk, and Harley Race. Others involved in the Legends convention.
Said he missed certain things about the business. He wishes he could still wrestle so he could have matches with people like Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, and more stuff with Chris Benoit. He said he doesn't, however, miss being dropped on his head, hotel rooms, rental cars, or a flight to catch everyday. He simply misses being inside the ring and performing in front of a crowd, a place he felt at home.
He mentioned that he does not follow the current WWE product. He said he'd rather put tapes in and watch old matches for his wrestling fix. He said today's in-ring style is all about high-spots and random series of moves practiced before hand, getting away from what pro wrestling used to be completely.
Said he wishes WWE kept their characters more legitimate, using the "Stone Cold" Steve Austin persona as an example of a good one. He claims today's characters aren't believable, and that WWE should go more the reality route instead of the soap opera with bad acting like they've been doing.
When asked if he would accept an on-air role, for either WWE or TNA, he said the usual "never say never."
He likes the spunk of TNA trying to be the counter-product of WWE, and feels the business thrives off competition. He said as far as negotiations to work with TNA, talks have been left on the table. He is still waiting for the right opportunity and circumstances.
Talked a bit about the bad state of tag-team wrestling these days, saying it's basically ignored by WWE anymore. He talks about The Road Warriors, British Bulldogs, Rockers, and Hart Foundation as examples of great old-school tag-team wrestling, and how it can be succesful.
About officially burying the hatchet with WWE, he said he thinks it will be one day, but nothing specific indicates that. He was proud of his time in WWE and said his career shouldn't be summed up with the last few minutes in Montreal in 1997. He says the main thing that bothers him about WWE is the respect issue. He feels WWE exploits the Montreal incident as much as possible, instead of admitting some fault or bad judgement, and just finally putting it behind them.
Said he'd be willing to be part of the WWE Hall of Fame, and that he still wants to produce a DVD of his best career matches and other pro wrestling moments. He's still working with WWE on a way to make that happen. And of course his book is still in the process of being written, with him saying anytime it comes time to talk about Montreal or his brother Owen, it's hard to put it down on paper in the right words.
THANKS to Daniel Elder for this:

Three new writers (that know not a thing about wrestling) have been hired to the WWE creative team recently. One of them, a female brought in from the Nickelodeon channel, asked JBL recently how they made the “fake blood” continue to look like it was flowing out of his head.
Chris Jericho is expected to be gone from the WWE within 6 weeks, with SummerSlam being his last show. Jericho has a multitude of gigs booked for his band, Fozzy, including a ten-day tour of the UK in October.
Now, WrestlingObserver.com reports this:
WWE.com reported that Chris Jericho in fact did sign his contract extension on Monday night in Cleveland, and is staying with the company.
WWE has agreed to terms with Spanky and James Gibson (Jamie Noble) to return.
Matthew Boone got this report of Hulk Hogan's appearance on Thursday Night's Larry King LIVE program on CNN:
Thanks to Chris Minerd for sending in the following:
Recap of Hulk Hogan on Larry King
Hulk Hogan was on Larry King Live tonight with Linda, Brooke, and Nick. In addition to promoting "Hogan Knows Best", here are the highlights.
On Brock Lesnar's return..."I'd love to see Brock come back. He should've never tried out for the Minnesota Vikings. He's wrestled all his life."
On WM18...The Rock is his boy and he was very surprised of the fan reaction he got.
On Summerslam and why Michaels turned against him..."I guess he wanted to try and get into the upper tier that he never achieved."
On Owen Hart's death..."The biggest tragedy ever to happen at a live event."
On making more movies...He may make another one soon with Lil Bow Wow.
Hogan promoted Summerslam, said he will be in Montreal soon, and they said he will wrestle on Raw August 8th in Pittsburgh. They showed alot of WWE clips past and present and even some WCW. They showed some clips of this week's "Hogan Knows Best" with Hulk at the Hall of Fame banquet and Wrestlemania 21. Everyone came across well. It was a good interview.
23 years ago today (Friday July 29th) was the famous Andy Kaufman-Jerry Lawler angle on the David Letterman show, which is considered in some circles as one of the big moments in TV history. It sure was gigantic in wrestling at the time, as wrestlers never got high profile guest appearances in those days, let alone got to shoot angles on network TV. (thanks to Mike Valente)
Thanks to Andy Steven for the following:
Source: PWTorch.com
Sources close to the situation report that WWE.com's coverage of the Brock Lesnar contract negotiations has been an extremely accurate portrayal of what's actually going on behind closed doors. Because the prospect of Brock Lesnar returning is such a big deal, WWE has covered the story on its website as a method of preventing competing websites from scooping the story.
While Trish Stratus is technically cleared to return to the ring, insiders are of the impression that the diva wants to take a few more weeks off to rest her body. The creative team has therefore been in no hurry to book an angle for her on-air return; rumors and speculation, meanwhile, suggest that Stratus' first angle back will involve the Diva Search winner.
James Gibson (Jamie Noble) sent out an email informing indy promoters that, due to signing with WWE, he is no longer able to take new bookings. It remains to be seen if WWE will let him fulfill his outstanding commitments, but odds are that it will.
And finally, Ryan Clark reports this:
David Tate was sentenced to 14 years in prison on Friday. Tate was the crooked Memphis police officer who attempted a plot to rob the home of Jerry "The King" Lawler and even threatened to murder Lawler if he was at home during his planned break-in. The others involved in the attempted robbery have yet to be sentenced. This story is expected to be heavily covered in the Memphis area this weekend.

Well, that does it for another edition of WrestleBeat. I'll be back next time with more news and notes from the World of Professional Wrestling.
So, until next time, KEEP BOTH FEET ON THE MAT AND YOUR PUNCHES ABOVE THE BELT! Later, Michael
